This is a good shot of our road trip setup -- we sleep in the back of the truck on top of a platform that lets us stow climbing gear underneath. There's an extra box on top of the pickup for stowing seldom-used gear. The trailer can stay in the campsite, and holds the bulk of our stuff. It locks up, and you can chain the bikes to it, too.
